Mood: waiting for wind
14th September 2008
Windsurfing: Littlestone
Wind Direction: ENE
Wind Stength: 11-17 knots, apparently
Surf / Sea State: coastal flat, with some waves
Air Temperature: fine
Sea Temperature: ok
Weather: sunny and not as windy as hoped
Max Speed:
Distance Covered:

Got the nod early from Rich C that he'd booked some wind for Littlestone, so negotiated a pass for the day, and hopped in the Master Surfbus to meet them over there.

As I got there Rich & Rob & Tim were having a nice bike ride, Allesandro was munching and considering which rig to go for, and Camber Mafia was already on the water on his All Terrain 115 and a 6.4m. I'd spotted him bobbing about from the Varne before meeting the guys, but as I was talking to Allesandro we saw the Mafiosa at full tilt ..... nobody panic !!!

RIG UP !!!

So .... what to rig ?

My choices were pretty limited, with the borrowed Freewave 95 being the only board I'd got in the van. So, having re-discovered my old Superfreak 5.8m, I set them up for a go.

I was surprised at how close I was to planing, in fact I got going a couple of times, but only in real short bursts. Meanwhile Allesandro rigged his 5.6m Simmer and RRD TwinTip 114 and headed out ..... only to find he couldn't get going.

The wind had dropped ..... and that was pretty much it to be honest.

If I'd loaded up my Manta 75 I would have been flying around the bay with either a 7.0m or 8.0m GTX, but I'd put my MTB in where the Manta would normally sit, just to check it fitted ... DOH !!

Never mind, new toys en-route, so hopefully some wind will coincide with their arrival
